The work begins

We've cut out a huge chunk of the fiberglass here, from the inside, after removing all of the wood fittings from inside of the boat. If you ever have to do this, use a RotoZip. Very carefully.

The work to be done

Rotten wood, indicating the extent of damage to the core. The core is the layer of marine plywood, sandwiched between two layers of fiberglass, which together give structural integrity to the deck.

Looking in from the cockpit at the teak-veneered bulkheads. Note the water damage along the mast-step.

The galley (kitchen), a little worse for wear, but not much wrong with it, really.
